This question has been posted before (Bootcamp says 'requires windows 7' in Windows 10). I thought I would add to the discussion.
I had the same problem described in a previous post where I tried to install bootcamp support with the setup application for windows and got a message saying that boot camp requires windows 7. Strange since I was running Windows 10. I followed the instructions from Loner T (see discussion thread). When I ran the bootcamp setup application for windows I got the same error message 'Bootcamp requires Windows 7' and the installation failed. At this point I ended up right-clicking on the setup application. I clicked Troubleshoot Compatibility option => Try recommended settings. The bootcamp installation went flawlessly at this point.
